What is Los Freedom

Los Freedom will initially be a level 1 to 5 server set up for an easy conversion from NWN to NWN2 due out in 2006.

Located along the Hades/Astral Plane border, Los Freedom itself is closer to the Hades side and the Sunset Coast, closer to the Astral side.  This planar location gives Los Freedom the flexibility to fit in almost anywhere.

Quests and challenges will be geared towards lower level characters and favour stock creatures over custom.  Though it's not likely the HoU item enhancement system will make the cut to NWN2, I plan on using something similar to it in Los Freedom over magic item availability. It's scripted so might be convertable to NWN2 with adjustments pending how much Obsidian changes any scripting functions(there will be some adjustments made).

No vendors will sell any magic other then entry level potions and scrolls. There will be assorted craftsmen npcs scattered about that will specialize in areas of item creation. The basic gear will require character supplied components easily located. Some crafters capable of crafting higher level items may require seeking them out and possibly an introductory quest to gain access to. Crafting costs will require gold and two to three additional components(and quests in some cases) depending on the item being created.

Vendors will have limited funds for acquiring items so attempts to move high ticket items will likely require finding a collector with plausable access to greater funds, the cliched eccentric wizard, the Inn Owner/semi-retired Adventurer or the rich sea captain being possible sources. As with craftsmen above some collectors may require questing to gain access to.

As development progresses Los Freedom will addon expansion packs, likely in increments of 5 levels each, leaving 3 LF XPs to get the mod up to level 20.

I'm not sure if there will be any major differences between magic item creation and abilities between NWN and NWN2 but with Los Freedom there are a couple things I will be attempting magicwise. Haste and Immunity items will not be available on Los Freedom. There will be some minor soaking and resistences along with save enhancement but no Immune to Knockdown, Death Magic, Fear, Slash, Elements etc.

At level 5 it won't matter much but towards level 20 it will have a greater impact and will not negate the challenge factor of stock creatures, avoiding the custom creature arms race I'm famous(infamous?) for on my prior mod, Emerald Isle.
