 |
| A friend is someone we turn to when our spirits need a lift |
|
| A friend is someone to treasure, for friendship is a gift. |
|
| A friend is someone who fills our lives with Beauty, Joy and Grace |
|
| and makes the world we live in a better and happier place. |
|
|
|
| One song can spark a moment, |
| One flower can wake the dream. |
| One tree can start a forest, |
| One bird can herald spring. |
| One smile begins a friendship, |
| One handclasp lifts a soul. |
| One star can guide a ship at sea, |
| One word can frame the goal. |
| One vote can change a nation, |
| One sunbeam lights a room. |
| One candle wipes out darkness, |
| One laugh will conquer gloom. |
| One step must start each journey, |
| One word must start each prayer. |
| One hope will raise our spirits, |
| One touch can show you care. |
| One voice can speak with wisdom. |
| One heart can know what's true. |
| One life can make the difference, |
| you see it's up to You! |
|
|
| At Random |
| |
|
| It was at random that we met, |
| A chance that not many get. |
| When I heard the "Uh Oh", |
| How was I to know! |
| That you would turn out to be my special |
| friend |
| Someone who could be there, |
| Until the end. |
|
| No matter how I feel or what I do, |
| I know, in my heart, |
| That I can count on you. |
|
| I've never seen you, |
| Heard you, or touched you. |
| Those kind of chances are very few. |
|
| To meet someone from far away, |
| Never knowing if they're here to stay, |
| Not knowing if what they say is true, |
| Of what they're doing and telling you. |
|
| So far away, but yet so near, |
| The "not knowing" is the fear. |
| Is it truth, or is it lies? |
| Will a heart grow, or will it die? |
| Either way, the bonds of Friendship's strings |
| are tied |
|
| One's needs are met, |
| Some with regret. |
| Some with hope, |
| Some with pain. |
| But still, the answer is plain. |
|
| If we hadn't met, |
| On that very day, |
| Things would be different |
| In every way. |
|
| The emptiness may be filled, |
| A life may start to rebuild. |
| A heart may be broken, |
| Or made to mend; |
| All because of that |
| "Random Friend". |
|
|
| This was sent to me a while back….. |
|
| Ode To Worlds Hosts from a penguin admirer. |
|
| One day I decided to get on the net, |
| I thought a chat room would be my best bet. |
| I saw names and words come up from where |
| I knew not. |
| I soon took a chance and had a nice thought, |
| Could I do this, it looked really neat. |
| I saw names on the screen that started with Host, |
| Debonair, Woody, and Duchess were there too, |
| And then I saw it, "Oh, yes, we're talking to you, |
| come on in and chat for awhile. " |
| And when I did I started to smile. |
| I saw Orion and LionHeart and soon I was friends |
| with quite a few people by the days end. |
| And after awhile they called me their friend. |
| Sometimes I come in and my friends are not there, |
| But I'll go back again because I know that they care. |
| Some live in the states and some do not, |
| But they always know when I need to talk. |
| I am so glad I took the leap and went into |
| Worlds where friends are so neat. |
|
|
| Unseen Friend |
| |
|
| Although you are a friend of mine |
| and letters we exchange, |
| I wouldn't know you on the street, |
| and doesn't that seem strange? |
|
| You hold a place within my life, |
| unusual and unique; |
| We share ideals and special dreams, |
| and still, we do not speak. |
|
| I picture what I think you are, |
| perhaps you picture me. |
| An intriguing game for both of us |
| for someone we can't see. |
|
| So for this friendship we possess, |
| we owe this mail a debt, |
| Perhaps the charm lies in the fact |
| that we have never met. |
|
|
|
| Lost In Thought |
| |
|
| Pleasant sitting in the shade. |
| Letting the day slip away. |
| Slight breeze keeps the heat at bay. |
|
| A small lizard on a rock, |
| looks at me through beady black-eyes, |
| and in a flash it`s gone. |
|
| A sparrow lands on a nearby branch, |
| it`s head bobbing up and down as it watches me. |
| I laugh out loud, and the bird takes flight. |
|
| Such beautiful country, |
| Air cleaner, sweeter the sky more blue. |
| Soon you find yourself escaping deeper, |
| Surrendering. |
|
| Shutting out the world. |
| Sitting there motionless. |
| As your spirit is set free. |
|
|
