The First Worlds Gathering

"Host-Zeb returns. Having returned in last half hour from all those who attended and are still at the very first worlds get together. I would like to be the first to congratulate Host-Diamond Dog and all his team who must have spent ages organizing and running this tremendous long weekend together. To have the opportunity to meet not only Sir Gemini but other hosts and friends from Worlds was a great privilege. Especially as some traveled from Scotland, Italy, Sweden, and the USA, Which is some commitment to the program. I have left them all having a ball and can only say and recommend that next years event will be something to look forward to. It would be great to meet up with a few more of my colleagues.The one thing I regret was not being up at 4am last night to see Blueberry and Netty having an early morning swim in the sea.. (cough). Its a shame they didn't bring their cossys..LOL. I am sure the photos will at least come some way in enjoying the moment. Hope you all get a chance to see some that I am sure will be posted by Sir Gemini. On various web pages. Any way just wanted to be the first to say you all missed a wicked weekend, see you at the next !!!! Zeb..."

"The fantastic gathering, Zeb it was too bad you couldnt stay longer but I do hope that you will next year, as for the swimming it was soooo cold but lots of fun and the next night NICK28 (Sheep Shagger) even had a swim as well... lol. And I want to thank Diamond-Dog lots for doing this it was absolutely great to meet all and we are all like a family, now these people will be friends for life, and I hope that lots more will come next year it was so good it cant be described with words.Once again thanks DD for doing this lots of kram and puss to you. 8:51 am in Walla Walla.... Hello Everyone... I am finally recovering from the wonderful trip to the Isle of Wight.. I have included a little story about our adventure and hope you enjoy it. If you see any of these people on line be sure to say hello and ask about the gathering! It would have been wonderful to have met more of you there...so read on and maybe you can come next time? Cheers...
April 2000 Isle of Wight On a lovely resort island just off the South of England came an Italian woman bringing the sun...two Swedish ladies with their pretty smiles...a tall Norwedgian with his laptop...a Scot with his wonderful accent... a father and his son...a husband and his wife...two best friends with their "sheep" stories...the lovely Owner/Hostess of the Hotel...a "mum"....a daughter...a son (the Organizer of the Event) and his lovely friend and an American from a "real" town called Walla Walla. They go by the strange names of: Lydiafo, Netty, Cybra, BlueBerry, Sound Chaser, Ice and Fossel Hunter, Zeb, TimJinx and Nick28 (soon to be Nick > 29!), Shrimp, DD's Mum, Diamond Dog, ColdFusion and SirGemini. Strangers in the flesh, yet good friends and even family that have formed a bond through a wonderful and powerful chat program called Worlds Chat 3D (www.worlds.com). We came to this Island Resort for five days and four nights to talk and play and to get to know one another in real life after months and even years of sharing, online, bits of our lives with each other. Five wonderful days filled with Sunshine, thanks to our Lydiafo... tours of the Island with their quaint thatched cottages in the old town, chair lift rides to see the clifts of Alum Bay with it's many coloured sands, fossil hunting on the edge of the sea next to clifts that reach back over 120 million years...exposed to our touch, an adventure in bowling, world famous pubs and gothic detailing on the old Victorian island buildings, a ghost walk that transported us back in time, and evenings filled with concerts and bands and dancing and drinks of your favorite beverage. No evening ended earlier than 2 am! The Owners of the Hotel took wonderful care of us despite the late night chats and laughter and sand on the carpet from the beach (due to a sudden urge by a few unnamed people, to take a late night swim in the cold English Channel waters). Breakfast was at 9 am sharp every day and dinner at 6 pm and what wonderful English meals they were! It was an awesome task taken on by Diamond Dog to invite and bring these Worlds Chat Avatars to "life" and bring us together in one spot on this Earth (Sandown Isle of Wight). "A labor of love" that was done brilliantly and professionally. A special event indeed, that brought us to tears when we were forced to say goodbye and part ways. We were now more than users of the same internet chat program, more than friends...we had become "family." I will never forget these lovely people...I can still see their smiles...hear their laughter and I will always have a warm, special place in my heart for each one of them. My hat is off to Diamond Dog for a wonderful time that we will always remember....... Hugs...hugs...hugs...... SirGemini
